Artistic Nudeelegance slips across her shoulders
and pools in the hollow of her hips
confidence strokes the line of her jaw and
is cradled in the valley between her breasts
beauty drips down the curve of her belly
and rests in the v of her thighs

Lucky Number ThirteenI scar easily
It's something I've noticed of late
In the past few months I've garnered three more of them
All as painlessly as the first
The pain isn't phsyical - no, it's something else

I apply pressure with the tip of my index finger
Right over the crescent-shaped scar on my inner wrist
I hold it for a moment or two, release
And for a few brief seconds my skin is seemingly unmarred

But then the blood rushes back in
And the scar returns, as livid as before
Screaming, angry, over a blue-green vien

I caress that little angry scar
The pad of my thumb gently soothing it
I'm naked, and my eyes can't help but tally my scars
Twelve -
